survival of the fittest
the last days I often looked at the pictures on Roger Alsings page. This is a very fascinating way to recreate a picture, so I tried to do it my own way.
This was my first attempt to create a Mona Lisa like Roger’s ![]()
I hope you can see her smile…
Ok, whats the concept? I tried to create a picture out of polylines where the first set of coordinates, my initial DNA, is created by random. Every evolutionary step a number of mutations take place by moving the edges of the polyline a few pixel in random directions. Every mutation is checked against the original picture to see which is the best, and only the fittest survives. After a number of evolutionsteps with no new better polyline this thread ends and another polyline tries its luck to survive. Every line has another color which comes out of the original picture.

Ok, this is not better, but it’s still the beginning. Keep in mind that in real life it has taken millions of years ![]()
